Agent Helps Ease College's Concerns
One of our university customers in Ohio became concerned by the potential of a discrimination lawsuit after the June 2015 Supreme Court decision involving same-sex marriage. Our agent advised university leaders to review their bylaws, human resources practices, and facility-use agreements to ensure that they reflected policies consistent with the university’s religious beliefs and practices.
Our American Church Group of Ohio agent also advised leaders to add Brotherhood Mutual’s Religious Freedom Protection coverage, which offers defense reimbursement in the event the university becomes involved in a lawsuit. They were relieved to learn that such coverage was available and that their insurer, Brotherhood Mutual, was the first church insurer to offer such coverage to its policyholders.
